Watermelon

Watermelon grows wild in the semi-desert regions of southern Africa and perfectly adapts to its highly arid environment. Beneath the fruit's thick skin lies a veritable food store - a sweet, tasty, coloured flesh that is highly thirst-quenching thanks to its very high water content (approximately 90%). An essential source of water that ensures the survival of man and animals in desert regions, watermelon is grown today throughout the southern Mediterranean region and in all hot countries.
